Opened in 1925, this pool stood within a walled enclosure 200′ x 90′ that also contained changing facilities and admin buildings and room for 200 swimmers. By the late 1930s, it was reported to be the least used London County Council pool and was closed all winter.
The pool suffered damage on the first night of the 1940 blitz, apparently beyond repair. A large crater formed in the cetre that filled with rainwater and was used by local children as a paddling pool. It was not demolished until the 1960’s.
