This pool was within an area of the town called The Walks .
The pool had a conprehensive refurbishment for the 1939 season.
The pool was heated from the 1971 season.
In 1976, the council tried to lease the pool to local groups as attendance had dropped dramatically following the opening of a new indoor pool in the town.
Afterh the pool was closed, it was infilled to 2ft of the surrounds and left derelict until 1980 when it was demolished.
