Egerton Park pool or swimming baths opened in 1889 when the park was laid out. The original swimming bath was created by lining an old salting depression with concrete and bringing in sea water through an iron pipe.
The pool was rebuilt in 1937 and a diving board, water purification filters and a chlorination plant were added. The Bexhill Swimming Club performed at the opening event.
In 1960 the pool was extended with changing rooms, a sun terrace and a cafe. The pool was demolished in 1986.
