A large pool designed for lane swimming rather than a multi use facility, this pool runs parallel with the sea front and close to the historic Madeira Drive. The iron arches are currently undergoing comprehensive refurbishment after being left to deteriorate for many years.
The pool was built directly on part of the sandy beach and it is necessary to cross the vintage Volks Railway line by level crossing to get to the site.
The pool has a constant depth of 1.3m and is herated year-round to 19C. The pool is divided into 6 x 2m lanes.
