The lido opened in May 1935 and was built on the site of an old mill lodge. It was built by Whitehouse and Stubbs, who also built a number of the new houses in the area.

The pool was 180ft long and featured a water slide and a high diving board and a filtration system.

The pool did not last very long. It closed at the outbreak of WWII and appears to have been converted to a reservoir. It is still appearing as a reservoir on ordnance survey maps in 1974.
