(chairman of the urban district council), recently opened the new swimming pool, estimated to cost £6,000, at Gelligflled Park, Ystrnd Rhondda. This was the first public swimming bath in the Rhondda Valleys. Built by Rhondda Urban District Council, the baths remained in use until the construction of a modern, indoor leisure centre at Gelligaled Park in the early 1980s. The baths have subsequently been demolished. |
